“Vermont Mask Day is a great way to raise awareness for the importance of wearing a mask.”
Phil Scott, Governor of Vermont
VERMONT MASK DAY
OCTOBER 6, 2020
Founded and organized by Masks4Missions, Vermont Mask Day was a one-day, official state-wide celebration of Vermonters coming together virtually and in mask-protected socially-distant gatherings to celebrate our shared commitment to healthy communities.
Vermont’s leaders mobilized
From the earliest designation of October 6, 2020 as Vermont Mask Day under the Vermont General Assembly’s H.C.R. 337, through being championed by state leaders across the aisle from Republican Governor Phil Scott and Independent Senator Bernie Sanders, Vermont Mask Day has been a collaborative effort of Vermonters working together.
bringing the community together
Special events held throughout the week (October 5-9th), including design-your-own mask tables, social media contests, press conferences, medical webinars, art projections, and other activities, were hosted across the state with guest appearances from local artists, musicians, and other well-known Vermonters.
to make a difference in Vermonters’ lives
As a result of Masks4Missions and its partners’ engagement in Vermont Mask Day, more than 25,000 masks were distributed throughout the state, helping keep Vermont a national leader in combatting the spread of COVID-19.
